The Duxbury Education Foundation’s mission is to be a source of seed money for new and innovative ideas and programs.  We are the “foundation” from which imaginative teachers, administrators, and school support groups can get financial encouragement to try something, which is currently outside the school budget.  Grants are normally given for one year.  The assumption is that programs that prove worthwhile will be included in future school budgets.  However, if you feel that the program you are proposing is worthy of multi-year funding, please indicate that and include a rationale for such funding.  All applications must be submitted electronically to the Assistant Superintendent of schools.

-Grants over $1,000 will be reviewed twice a year in the Spring and Fall.  DEF Grant deadlines are March 8th and October 25th

-Grants of $1,000 or less (Professional Development and General Enrichment) may be submitted at any time and will be acted on within three weeks

-All grant applications should be sent to DEF Liaison – Ed Walsh, Assistant Superintendent.  Email all grant applications to: ewalsh@duxbury.k12.ma.us

-All grant applicants are required to submit feedback to the DEF within 6 months after grant is awarded.  All Grant Feedback Forms should be emailed the DEF via Ed Walsh at the above email address.

-The proposal is academic in nature
-The proposal involves curriculum development (specific ties to Frameworks can strengthen an application)
-The proposal leads to improvement of teaching and/or learning
-The proposal provides enrichment for a significant number of students
-The proposal directly supports student activities in classrooms or other learning centers
-The proposal provides for involvement with the community of Duxbury
