President's Message

For more than 25 years, the Duxbury Education Foundation has been helping to fund innovative programs in Duxbury.  We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Duxbury community for attending & sponsoring our annual fundraising events, as well as “answering the call” during our annual phon-a-thon each year.  With your help and support, we have donated close to $1.5 million dollars to the Duxbury Public Schools.  We feel so lucky to serve such an incredible community, and know that none of this would have been possible without you!

This coming year, we have several very exciting events planned.  We hope you will join us once again to raise money for Duxbury:

  • Back to School Bash.  This fun-filled evening at North Hill Country Club on September 24th will include music & dancing from The Waves, heavy apps, a robust silent auction and our famous “Wheel of Chance”!  It’s the perfect way for adults to celebrate school being back in session!

  • “Answer the Call” Phone-A-Thon.   Make sure to pick up your phone between November 13-15 when school administrators and high school students will call to fundraise for the DEF. Your pledges are critical in helping fund grant proposals from teachers, administrators and staff.

  • Stay tuned for an exciting new event this spring!

  • 4th of July Road Race.  This longstanding tradition includes a 5K around Powder Point and a Children’s Fun Run at the Timothy J. Steele Athletic Building.  Bring the whole family and make it a 4th to remember!

In addition, we would like to thank our students, teachers and administrators for submitting such well-thought out and innovative grant applications. Each spring, our Trustees gather to review the grant requests submitted to us.  Needs vary year to year and generation to generation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to reward innovation in our schools in this manner.  If you'd like to learn more about last year's grant recipients, please view the Grants tab above.

Thank you again for your support.

With deep gratitude,
Katherine Kane
