President's Message

For the past 28 years, the Duxbury Education Foundation has been helping to fund innovative programs in Duxbury.  We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Duxbury community for attending & sponsoring our annual fundraising events, as well as “answering the call” during our annual campaign each year.  With your help and support, we have donated close to $1.5 million dollars to the Duxbury Public Schools.  We feel so lucky to serve such an incredible community, and know that none of this would have been possible without you!

This coming year, we have several very exciting events planned.  We hope you will join us once again to raise money for Duxbury:

· The Sink OAR Swim Auction.  This newly styled fall party at Duxbury Bay Maritime School will be held on October 12th. The evening will include music and cocktails overlooking our beautiful bay, and a fun and unique art auction provided by local professional artists and creative community members. Also, come see our “School of Fish” display by Duxbury children!

· “Answer the Call”, the phone-a-thon that has become an annual tradition, is getting a makeover and being relaunched as a social media based fundraiser this year, to encourage more “Peer to Peer” fundraising. We’ll be launching this newly designed annual campaign in mid-November, so keep your eye out for more information. As always, your pledges are critical in helping fund grant proposals from teachers, administrators and staff.

· 4th of July Road Race.  This longstanding tradition includes a 5K around Powder Point and a Children’s Fun Run at the Timothy J. Steele Athletic Building.  Bring the whole family and make it a 4th to remember!

In addition, we would like to thank our students, teachers and administrators for submitting such well-thought out and innovative grant applications. Each spring, our Trustees gather to review the grant requests submitted to us.  Needs vary year to year and generation to generation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to reward innovation in our schools in this manner.  If you'd like to learn more about last year's grant recipients, please view the Grants tab above.

Thank you again for your support.

With deepest gratitude,
Stephanie Gagnon
