President's Message

This year, the Duxbury Education Foundation proudly celebrates its 30th year of helping to fund innovative educational programs in Duxbury. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our corporate sponsors and the Duxbury community for attending and sponsoring our annual fundraising events, as well as “answering the call” during our annual campaign each year. With your help and support, we have donated close to $1.7 Million to the Duxbury Public Schools. We feel so lucky to serve such an incredible community and know that none of this would have been possible without you!

This coming year, we have several very exciting events planned. We hope you will join us once again to raise money for Duxbury’s public schools:

  • The Fall Party:  This newly-styled fall party at Duxbury Bay Maritime School will be held on the evening of October 4, 2019. The event will feature music, cocktails, and dancing while overlooking our beautiful bay, as well as a silent auction, featuring hand-crafted decorative wooden whales that will be decorated by local artists and talented community members.

  • “Answer the Call”: This is the phone-a-thon that has become a DEF annual tradition, is expanding to include a social media-based platform to encourage more “Peer to Peer” fundraising. This annual campaign will run from November 16 - November 19, so keep your eye out for more information. As always, your pledges are critical in helping fund grant requests submitted by teachers, administrators, and staff.

  • 4th of July Road Race:  This longstanding tradition includes a 5K around Powder Point and a Children’s Fun Run at the Duxbury High School track. Bring the whole family and make it a 4th to remember!

In addition, we would like to thank our students, teachers, and administrators for submitting such thoughtful and innovative grant applications during the 2019 grant application season. Needs vary year-to-year and generation to generation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to reward innovation in our schools in this manner. If you’d like to learn more about last year’s grant recipients, please view the “Grants” tab on our website.

Thank you again for your support.

With deepest gratitude,
Tanya D. Trevisan
President 2019-2020
