The Duxbury Education Foundation (DEF) is a community-based, all volunteer organization, whose mission is to provide alternative funding for innovative ideas and enriching programs in the Duxbury Public Schools. We encourage imaginative teachers, administrators, and school support groups by providing financial suppport to try something which is currently outside the school budget. As we enter our twentieth year, the DEF has funded over $830,000 to the schools. In the last year alone, the DEF disbursed over $143,000! Save the date for our annual Divots for Duxbury Golf Tournament Monday September 21st, 2009.
"Divots"
is one of the DEF’s largest fund-raising events of the year. The
tournament is played in a casual scamble format and includes womens and
mens teams. Participating golfers pay a tax-deductible entry fee, and
individual and corporate sponsorships are also available. The best part
is, it’s all for a great cause - to raise money to fund innovative
