This annual event is a wonderful, family friendly 5k that will take you around beautiful Powder Point in Duxbury on the morning of July 4th. The Duxbury Education Foundation (DEF) organizes the event. The DEF receives, administers, and disburses funds for educational, scientific and charitable purposes to be used to develop, support and assist programs which benefit the students, teachers, and staff of the Duxbury public school system.

The Duxbury Education Foundation would like to thank everyone for an incredibly successful and extraordinarily fun July 4th Road Race last week. This year we sold out at 1,000 runners; the most ever in the 40 year history of the event! Without the continued generosity of our community and amazing sponsorships and donations from area businesses, the DEF would not be able to fund so many innovative grants to the schools each year. A special thank you to the many volunteers who provided help during the event, the Duxbury Clipper for their coverage, and the Duxbury Police & Fire Departments for ensuring the safety of the runners and spectators. We would also like to thank the DEF Committee members for their hard work and dedication to make this annual tradition possible.
